In Human Design, it's best to begin by understanding the value of each of the elements of your design.

Your Human Design Type is the most broad element and sets the tone for how all of the other elements are expressed within you.

The four main categories of type in Human Design are:

• Generator (included Manifesting Generator), approx 67%
• Projector, approx 23%
• Manifestor, approx 10%
• Reflector, approx 1.5%

These categories reveal a number of elemental aspects of each person.

Reason No. 1

The first aspect is the function of the energetic field, often referred to as an aura.

Now, that term, aura, might carry some unpleasant connotations of woo woo, new-agey, magical-thinking stuff.

In fact, you can understand it more as the bio-electric field that every living entity posesses.

Essentially, every atom in you has electromagnetic properties which impact every other atom around them.

So, in Human Design, each of the four Types has a specific expression of the electromagnetic field.

Generators, including Manifesting Generators have a bio-electric field that's described as open and enveloping.

Projectors have a bio-electric field that's described as focused and absorbing.

Manifestors have a bio-electric field that's described as closed and repelling.

Reflectors have a bio-electric field that's described as resistant and sampling.

Reason No. 2

Your energy field is alway present and speaks for you without you having to consciously direct it.

Therefore, whenever you enter a room, your bio-electric field enters with you and influences the other fields around you.

So for example, as a Generator, being the most populous Type, you're likely to enter a room and simply assume that everyone else is like you... because most of them are.

Much of time, this may work out fine.

However a lack of conscious understanding of how your aura is speaking means that when you encounter one of the other three Types, the results may lead to frustration.

And, because your bio-electric field is open and enveloping, you're taking in everything around you, even what you aren't consciously aware of.

This can cause you to make decisions based on what's penetrated your energy field, rather than on what's correct for you.

Reason No. 3

Your Human Design Type reveals how you're here to be.

As an example, Manifestors with their closed and repelling auras are here to initiate and create an impact.

The closed and repelling qualities of their energy field make it more likely they will behave in ways that initiate and impact from their unique and protected strengths and qualities.

Unfortunately, most Manifestors are misunderstood and seen as people (or children) who need to be controlled.

This creates an unhealthy result for the Manifestor which creates anger, or when turned inward, passivity and apathy.

In fact, when Manifestors are seen for who they truly are, they initiate and create impact in ways that create peace for themselves and others.

Reason No. 4

Your Human Design Type gives you specific signposts to look out for that reveal essential information about your choices.

Take, for example, the Projector.

This aura is here to focus in on and absorb the energies of those around them, in particular Generators.

However, most Projectors have spent their lives thinking they were supposed to have the limitless energy of Generators to create the impact of Manifestors.

This mistaken identity creates a great deal of bitterness when Projectors expend energy from artificial sources and then don't receive the recognition and invitation that's correct for them.

The experience of bitterness, which can even be perceived as a taste, is the sign that the Projector is misusing their bio-electric field.

All that's required is to begin by understanding that the Projector is here to recognize and be recognized.

It's a life skill that allows them to correctly accept invitations to manage energy, rather than generate or manifest it.

Reason No. 5

Each Type has a specific Strategy for making decisions.

When you think about it, making decisions is all there really is.

You decide when to get out of bed.

You decide whether to eat food that's healthy for you body or not.

You decide to stay in or get out of relationships.

Each moment is a decision of some kind.

If you learn how to make decisions according to your Type, you'll experience a particular quality of enlivenment.

So, for Generators, an experience of Satisfaction flows from correctly made decisions.

Projectors experience Success.

Manifestors experience Peace.

Reflectors experience Surprise, specifically the delightful kind.

And speaking of Reflectors, they have an extraordinary and unique Strategy that relies on awareness of the Lunar Cycle.

Yes, this sounds very woo woo, too.

However, when you consider that only 1.5% of people are Reflectors, it makes sense that this would seem strange, and even, unlikely.

The truth is though, when Reflectors learn their correct way to make decisions, they become highly valuable reflections of the quality of whatever environment they're in.
